Cardiff 2-2 Reading

A Cardiff City equaliser very late in the game stopped Reading travelling back up the M4 with more than a point on Tuesday night.

The final score in the Championship clash was 2-2 after Craig Bellamy scored in the 97th minute.

Speaking after the match, Royals boss Brian McDermott said, "I feel...'sick' is probably the word I'd use.

"We've come to a side who are second in the league and we should have won.

"We were six and a half minutes into four minutes of extra time and it wasn't a foul that led to the free kick.

"I don't want to sound like one of those managers who whinge about referees and he made his decisions as honestly as he could. But I'm sorry, we're all very, very disappointed.

"For the first half an hour we weren't in any danger. We'd scored the goal, we were controlling the game, we had good shape to the team.

"They got a fortunate goal just after half time and then right at the end they get that goal.

"I'm really, really disappointed for the players and the fans travelling back down the M4 tonight.

"I'm so proud of our players once again - I told them just that. I told them to forget the scoreboard and just know that I'm absolutely proud of every one of them.

"We've given everything again. I couldn't fault any of our players today. And we should have won it.

"I'm so disappointed for Manset too. On his away debut as well. We got another late goal - which is no accident!

"He's going to be a good player for us. He's big and strong. He's got to get fitter, but when he does he'll score goals for us. I'm convinced about that.

"We're bitterly disappointed. We should have beaten Hull as well in our last home game.

"But it's a draw. It is what it is. We'll have to take that into the next game and use it as a positive.

"I'll get home late after this and I might not get much sleep tonight. But tomorrow I'll be in a better place.

"We look forward now. We move on and we look to Friday."
