Chris Murton

Chris Murton

Chris is here weekday evenings from 7pm.

Full name: Christopher Simon Murton (only when I'm in trouble)

Birthday: 23rd January

Starsign: Aquarius

Nickname at school: I wasn't cool enough to have a nickname - everyone at my school called each other by our surnames!

Tell us something we didn't know about you: I used to have a phobia of extractor fans. No, really.

Where did you go to school and were you naughty? I grew up and spent my 'yoof' in Kent. I wouldn't dare be naughty, my mum was a teacher at the same primary school I went to - I'd get no dinner and an early bedtime!

First job - and would you do it again? Making and serving pizzas at a well known hut shaped restaurant. Of course I'd do it again - you get free food while you're working...

While the music's playing, what do you do? Put my feet up, read the paper and try to answer the eternal question - does the teabag go in before the milk or after?

What do you get up to outside of work? As little as possible, but I can usually be found experimenting in the kitchen or waiting for the sun to come out so I can enjoy a pint or two at the pub.

Do you have any embarrassing albums in your collection at home? I found the B*witched album (remember them?) at home the other day, featuring such classics as 'Blame it on the Weatherman' and their chart-topping hit 'Rollercoaster'. Sarcasm duly intended.

Favourite place to eat? I'm on a personal mission to try every Indian restaurant in town - we are blessed with so much choice!

Favourite pub? The Fox & Hounds in Theale or the Redan in Wokingham.

Reading's best-kept secret? Zero Degrees on Bridge Street. There's only a handful in the country, and they specialise in beer and pizza. Need I say more?
